Senior Vice President and General Manager Ajei Gopal of HP’s software business division, is exiting the firm for a position with the private equity firm Silver Lake Partners, according to sources to AllThingsD. Gopal at Silver Lake will be operating partner, based in New York. He will be part of Silver Lake’s Value Creation team, working across the portfolio of Silver Lake investments searching for ways to enhance their operations.

Sources at Intel Santa Clara told TechEYE that the Chief Executive Jen-Hsen Huang of Nvidia was approached by recruiters searching for a replacement for the former’s Chief Executive Paul Otellini, who steps down at the end of May. Jen-Hsen is on record as declaring that if he worked for Intel it would only be as the head of the firm.

On Monday, Microsoft said that will begin selling the Surface RT in Russia on April 4. On its Russian website the company said that M.video stores will sell the RT in Moscow. Beyond that, Microsoft will host a concert by Vera Brezhnev at the Neglinnaya Plaza shopping center on the release date, and that consumers will be able to familiarize themselves with the tablet at the event.
