Baidu Inc. (NASDAQ:BIDU): Closing price $138.51
Baidu has completed its plans to acquire NetDragon Websoft’s mobile gaming platform, 91 Wireless Websoft, at a price of $1.85 billion. In a press release, Baidu said is purchasing NetDragon’s 57.4 percent interest in the gaming app store 91 Wireless, along with buying out all other shareholders. The transaction was first reported in July, and it should close in the fourth quarter.
Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT): Closing price $32.35
Microsoft is trying to repair a tech breakdown that has separated some people from their email accounts on Outlook.com and files stored on the SkyDrive service. The software company says that only a small number of users have been affected by an outage that started Wednesday morning. Microsoft’s statement concerning the matter did not provide any further specifics.
JA Solar Holdings Co. Ltd. (NASDAQ:JASO): Closing price $7.94
On Wednesday, JA Solar said it reached a securities purchase agreement with a single institutional investor through which to issue securities in a registered direct offering that will bring gross proceeds to it of as much as $96 million before deducting the placement agent fees and estimated offering expenses. This amount does not include any proceeds from the Series B Warrant, which is not exercisable for one year after the date of issuance.
AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVAV): Closing price $23.08
AeroVironment said Wednesday that it received a $13,487,240 order from the United States Army on Tuesday. The order is the final portion of a $59.6 million contract that includes RQ-11B Raven unmanned aircraft systems, miniature gimbaled payloads, and initial spares packages, and it is funded from the Army’s fiscal 2012 procurement budget. Delivery of systems, spares, and payloads is set for completion by September 15.
