5 Stocks Making Moves at the Start of Trading
These companies all got their pre-market jolt this morning. Here are Wednesday’s early morning movers:
Telvent Git SA (NASDAQ:TLVT) has agreed to be acquired by Schneider Electric SA (EPA:SA) at a price of $40 a share, 16% above their market share price as of close Tuesday. As a result, shares skyrocketed 15.38% to $39.75 a share.
Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) just won a government contract worth $1.2 billion to provide wireless broadband services for Australia’s NBN Co. The deal includes the expectation that they will work to expand wireless broadband services into rural parts of Australia. Shares of Ericsson are up 2.16% in pre-market trading.
Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Inc. (NASDAQ:JOSB) reported a first-quarter net profit of $17.8 million, or 64 cents a share, up 7 cents a share from the same quarter last year. However, shares are down in pre-market trading 12.70%.
Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. (NYSE:PVH) reported Tuesday that sales from its Calvin Klein brand as well as the recently acquired Tommy Hilfiger brand drove to fiscal first quarter profit of $57.7 million, or 79 cents a share. Shares rose 2.2% in after-hours trading on Tuesday and are up another 3.30% today in pre-market trading.
Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) shares are down 1.33% in pre-market trading with the news that Yahoo may have reached an agreement with Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (ALBCF.PK) resolving the question of ownership with regards to Alipay, an online-payments business.
