Acadia Healthcare (ACHC) announced the acquisition of Timberline Knolls, which is a 122-bed inpatient behavioral healthcare facility near Chicago in Lemont, Illinois. The total consideration paid to purchase Timberline Knolls’ operations and a related transaction for the purchase the real estate totaled $90 million in cash. Company stated, “In addition to bringing an outstanding staff of behavioral healthcare professionals to Acadia, we expect this transaction to be accretive to our 2012 financial results in a range of 4c-5c per diluted share. On an annualized basis, this transaction is expected to increase our earnings per share by approximately 16c per diluted share. By the end of 2012, we also expect to complete an 18-bed expansion that is currently underway at the facility. The expansion will increase the facility’s total beds to 140, with additional beds planned for 2013. This transaction, which will enable us to enter our 19th state, is representative of our robust pipeline of potential transactions in the fragmented inpatient behavioral healthcare industry.” The shares closed at $21.08, up $1.9 or 9.91% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $1.85 to $19.92.
Amazon.Com (NASDAQ:AMZN): Technology firms Amazon.com, Motorola Mobility (NYSE:MMI), and Nokia (NYSE:NOK) are scheduled to announce new hand-held devices this week, ahead of expectations that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) intends to reveal its next iPhone the next week, according to the Wall Street Journal. The shares closed at $35.12, down $0.02 or 0.06% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $29.93 to $35.60.
Francesca’s Holdings (NASDAQ:FRAN) announced a senior leadership transition plan. Beginning December 31, 2012, Chief Executive Officer John De Meritt has decided to retire from the Company and the Board in order to pursue personal endeavors. Neill P. Davis, current President and director since 2007, has been appointed by the Board to serve as the Chief Executive Officer starting January 1, 2013. Also, Theresa Backes, current Chief Operating Officer, has been promoted by the Board to serve as the President beginning January 1, 2013. The shares closed at $36.07, up $0.74 or 2.09% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $15.22 to $36.84.
