Active Extended Trading Stocks: Verizon Suffers Another Data Outage, While SINA and BIDU Edge Lower

Shares of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) are reacting to yet another data outage.  The company is coping with its third extensive data service outage this month for 4G LTE devices. Verizon has been relying on getting an early lead on AT&T (NYSE:T) in dispensing LTE services to give it a boost.  Shares of rival Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE:S) are trading .88 percent lower.

Airline stocks such as AMR Corp. (NYSE:AMR) and Southwest (NYSE:LUV) are pleased to hear that according to statistics from the IATA, global airline accident rates are on track to post their lowest rating ever recorded.  Shares of Jetblue Airways Corp. (NASDAQ:JBLU) and United Continental Holdings Inc. (NYSE:UAL) are ticking up in extended trading.

T. Rowe Price fund manager Kennard Allen is bullish on SINA Corp. (NASDAQ:SINA) and Baidu Inc. (NASDAQ:BIDU).  However, both stocks are edging lower in extended trading.  Allen believes China’s low internet penetration rate of 36 percent provides plenty of room growth.  He is not bullish on IT services firms such as Cognizant Tech Solutions (NASDAQ:CTSH) and Accenture PLC (NYSE:ACN).
