Amazon’s Bestselling Items of 2011: Apple, Activision, and Crox Win Big

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) said the Kindle Fire and Activision Blizzard Inc.’s (NASDAQ:ATVI) “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” videogame were among the top sellers of 2011. The online retailer said its Kindle Fire helped this holiday season to be one of the best for its Kindle line. Amazon has been tight-lipped about sales numbers for their devices, but said they sold more than 1 million Kindles per week during the holiday season.

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” was Activision’s cornerstone product this year. The company began executing on a strategy to release fewer, higher quality games. The company said the release of the game was the largest launch of any game, ever.

Other big sellers included Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) founder Steve Job’s official biography “Steve Jobs,” written by Walter Isaacson, Croc’s shoes (NASDAQ:CROX) and Levi’s jeans. The top-selling toy was Rory’s Story Cubes.
