Analyst Likes Molycorp Acquisition, Toyota Hiring, eBay’s Paypal Launch, Avon’s CEO Search
Molycorp (NYSE:MCP): Molycorp acquisition looks positive, says Stifel Nicolaus. After Molycorp announced that it plans to acquire Neo Material Technologies – which produces powders and rare metals – Stifel Nicolaus views the deal as a positive vertical integration move for Molycorp. The firm expects the deal to be accretive in 2012 but it maintains a Hold rating on Molycorp.
Toyota (NYSE:TM): Toyota will hire 1,300 new recruits in April 2013, 87 fewer than this April, the Nikkei reports. The automaker will hire 500 engineers in 2013, up 40.
eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY): EBay’s PayPal will launch new payments solutions for small businesses at an event next week, with TechCrunch unclear on the details but expecting some sort of in-store payments technology similar to the one PayPal is introducing for big box retailers.
Avon Products (NYSE:AVP): More names have surfaced in Avon Products’ (NYSE:AVP) search for a new CEO, reports Women’s Wear Daily. Potential candidates now include Dawn Hudson, former CEO of PEP’s NA, Carlos Gutierrez, former CEO of Kellogg (NYSE:K) and a former Secretary of Commerce, and William Perez, former CEO of Nike (NYSE:NKE) & Wm. Wrigley Jr. Wall Street analysts reportedly are expecting a decision before the company’s shareholder meeting in May.
