Aeropostale (NYSE:ARO): Maxim lowered its price target for Aeropostale shares to $9 from $14, citing ongoing margin concerns, and the firm keeps a Hold rating on the stock. Regarding Sycamore’s 7.96 percent stake disclosed yesterday, Maxim said that it does not believe the private equity firm is looking to take Aeropostale private, but does believe “there is a potential end game for the investors.” Given Sycamore’s controlling interest in Mast Global Fashions, Maxim says that Aeropostale could be more valuable as a strategic asset to the private equity firm than to individual investors.
BioMarin (NASDAQ:BMRN): William Blair raised its price target for BioMarin to $88 from $74 following the company’s R&D day, citing its development pipeline. The firm keeps an Outperform rating on the stock.
Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT): RW Baird downgraded Caterpillar to Neutral from Outperform based on subdued 2014 growth given headwinds in mining and low growth in Construction equipment. The shares’ price target remains $90.
NRG Energy (NYSE:NRG): Goldman downgraded NRG Energy to Neutral from Conviction Buy due to relative valuation, lack of catalysts, and downside risk to 2015 Street estimates. The shares’ price target has been lowered to $28 from $31.
