Upgrades

  • Meritage (NYSE:MTH): UBS upgraded its rating on this company from Sell to Neutral and changed its price target to $19.  About the company: Meritage Homes Corporation designs, builds, and sells single-family homes ranging from entry level to semi-custom luxury. The Company operates in the South and West of the United States.
  • Lennar (NYSE:LEN): UBS upgraded its rating on this company from Neutral to Buy and changed its price target to $21.  About the company: Lennar Corporation constructs and sells single-family attached and detached homes, and to a lesser extent multi-level buildings as well as buys and sells residential land. The Company also provides mortgage financing, title insurance, closing services and other ancillary services (including personal lines insurance, high-speed Internet and cable television).
  • DR Horton (NYSE:DHI): UBS upgraded its rating on this company from Neutral to Buy and changed its price target to $13.  About the company: D.R. Horton, Inc. constructs and sells single-family homes designed primarily for the entry-level and move-up markets. The Company operates in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Southwest, and Western regions of the United States. D.R. Horton also, through its financial services operations, provide mortgage financing and title agency services to homebuyers.
  • Tesoro (NYSE:TSO): RBC Capital Mkts upgraded its rating on this company from Sector Perform to Outperform and changed its price target from $28 to $30.  About the company: Tesoro Corporation refines and markets petroleum products, and provides transporting services. The Company operates refineries, as well as a network of retail and refueling stations in the western United States. Tesoro also markets gasoline and diesel fuel to independent marketers and commercial end users.
  • Windstream (NASDAQ:WIN): Hudson Square Research upgraded its rating on this company from Hold to Buy and changed its price target to $15.  About the company: Windstream Corporation offers telecommunications services to residential and business customers in rural communities in the United States. The Company provides local telephone, high-speed Internet, long distance, network access, and video services in multiple states.
  • CenturyLink (NYSE:CTL): Hudson Square Research upgraded its rating on this company from Hold to Buy and changed its price target to $42.  About the company:  CenturyLink Inc. is an integrated communications company. The Company provides a wide range of communications services, including local and long distance voice, Internet access and broadband services. CenturyLink operates throughout the United States.
  • Nu Skin (NYSE:NUS): Wedbush upgraded its rating on this company from Neutral to Outperform  and changed its price target from $40 to $48.  About the company: Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. is a global direct selling company. The Company distributes premium quality personal care products and nutritional supplements. Nu Skin markets its products in the Americas, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region. The Company provides marketing and distribution of technology-based products through Big Planet, Inc.

Downgrades

  • TriQuint Semi (NASDAQ:TQNT): Barclays Capital downgraded its rating on this company from Overweight to Equal Weight and changed its price target from $12 to $6.  About the company: TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures, and markets a variety of high performance analog and mixed signal integrated circuits for the communications markets. The Company utilizes its proprietary gallium arsenide technology to enable its products to overcome the performance barriers of silicon devices in various applications. TriQuint’s products are sold worldwide.
  • MetroPCS (NYSE:PCS): Standpoint Research downgraded its rating on this company from Buy to Hold.  No price target was given.  About the company:  MetroPCS Communications, Inc. is a wireless communications provider in the United States. The Company offers unlimited wireless voice and data services to the mass market.
  • Coventry Health Care (NYSE:CVH): Standpoint Research downgraded its rating on this company from Buy to Hold.  No price target was given.  About the company: Coventry Health Care, Inc. is a managed health care company operating health plans and insurance companies under a variety of names. The Company provides health maintenance organization, preferred provider organization, point of service, Medicare and Medicaid, and Network Rental to members in markets throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast United States.
  • Saneamento Basico (NYSE:SBS): Standpoint Research downgraded its rating of this company from Buy to Hold.  About the company: Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado de Sao Paulo collects, treats, and distributes water. The Company also engineers and constructs water distribution infrastructure and water treatment systems. SABESP operates in the Brazilian State of Sao Paulo.
