Analysts: Nike Will Beat Expectations and 3 Other Research Notes to Look Over

Nike (NYSE:NKE): Buckingham believes that Nike shares should be bought on any weakness, and the firm raised its price target on the stock to $81 from $68. The firm expects Nike’s upcoming Analyst Day to provide a positive catalyst for the stock, and predicts that Nike’s first-quarter results for 2014 will beat expectations. Buckingham keeps a Buy rating on the shares.


Nordstrom (NYSE:JWN): Macquarie has upgraded Nordstrom to Outperform from Neutral due to strong returns on invested capital, increased confidence in growth goals, capital expenditures, and growth opportunities. The firm raised Nordstrom’s price target to $66 from $60.


Baxter International (NYSE:BAX): JPMorgan has moved Baxter International to Neutral from Overweight and has given Baxter’s stock a $76 price target after being restricted on the stock since December 2012.


Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE:SWK): RW Baird has raised its price target on Stanley Black & Decker to $97 from $91 following the well-attended ASIS trade show, which suggests that Stanley Black & Decker’s Security business growth could accelerate in 2014. The firm noted management’s confidence in improved margins and operating performance in Security, as well as solid improvement in construction demand. Baird maintains an Outperform rating on Stanley Black & Decker.
