In 2012, Salesforce.com’s (NYSE:CRM) shares are up 33.86 percent. On Monday, the company agreed to purchase the marketing company Buddy Media for $689 million. This comes after its May Radian6 products acquisition and represents Salesforce.com’s largest acquisition to date.
With the Buddy Media transaction, Salesforce.com can now produce a package that will allow customers to “engage, gain insight, publish, advertise and measure social marketing programs” according to Michael Lazerow, CEO and co-founder of Buddy Media.
Buddy Media’s board approved the buyout; it is expected to close in the fiscal third quarter.
