AT&T said that it will add dispatch features to AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk that affords workforce management functionality as part of its push-to-talk solution. The new functionality permits businesses to map the location of company-issued Enhanced PTT devices on desktop software in near-real time, monitor push-to-talk activity, and record conversations of employees employing company-issued Enhanced PTT devices. These features may also help dispatch supervisors better manage their entire team online.
General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE): Current price $27.12
Purdue University and General Electric have arranged a university-industry partnership that reflects a new approach to expediting the academia-based tech commercialization process, according to a press release. The accord, signed in November, will merge the expertise of General Electric’s corporate tech commercialization group with innovations being created at Purdue to commercialize new technologies. Purdue innovations under consideration for development via the partnership include improved solar technologies, medical diagnostic imaging, advanced propulsion technologies, energy recovery technologies, and new biological testing technologies.
Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA): Current price $132.73
The battle for Boeing jobs intensified on Tuesday, just as the company broke ground for a new factory in South Carolina, while workers in Washington state were getting ready to vote Wednesday on a decision that could bring the company’s most recent jet to that state. Boeing said that it will consider South Carolina and other states for the new 777X jet program unless its Washington-based International Association of Machinists union approves a new contract in its vote. As reported Tuesday, Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries also has approached Boeing with a detailed proposal to manufacture the 777X wings.
