AT&T Announces Availability of Nokia Lumia 520 and 2 More Heavily Traded Stocks to Follow

AT&T (NYSE:T): Closing price $35.58

AT&T announces that the Nokia Lumia 520 will be the first Windows Phone in the AT&T GoPhone portfolio, and will be available for $99.99. The Lumia 520 offers the intuitive functionality of the Windows Operating System, together with the imaging capabilities found on other smartphones in the Nokia Lumia lineup, all contained in a more affordable package. Buyers may use Smart Shoot to capture five sequential images, and choose different faces and portions of the photos to compile into one final group picture.


Freeport-McMoRan Copper Inc. (NYSE:FCX): Closing price $29.15

Freeport-McMoRan will post its second quarter earnings report on Tuesday, and analysts forecast decreased profits, but at the same time are generally upbeat on the stock. Analysts project the company to report earnings of 41 cents per share, down 45 percent year-over-year from 74 cents per share, and the consensus estimate has slipped during the past three months from 87 cents. Analysts are projecting earnings of $2.88 per share for the fiscal year, and predict that revenue will fall 3 percent year-over-year to $4.36 billion for the second quarter, from $4.48 billion in 2012.


Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU): Closing price $2.12

On Monday, Zacks Equity Research downgraded the telecom equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent to Underperform, based on its first quarter results. Estimates have been trending downwards since it posted first-quarter results on April 26. The firm’s first-quarter revenues of $4.26 billion missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $4.27 billion, and the reported loss of 20 cents per share was wider than the estimate of  loss of 11 cents per share.
