AT&T Weekly Bond Sales Are 27 Percent Above Average and More Wall Street Play

This week, AT&T and Mylan Inc. were at the top of the bond sales list, each selling $38.1 billion in the United States, 27 percent above average while issuers set their borrowing costs near record lows, as they expect that the Federal Reserve might begin pulling back the stimulus early in 2014. AT&T raised $2 billion as offerings surpassed the year’s weekly average of $30.1 billion, said data compiled by Bloomberg.
Pretium Resources Inc. (NYSE:PVG): Current price $5.30
Pretium Resources reports that 4,215 ounces of gold have been produced from 8,090 dry tons of excavated material from the Valley of the Kings Bulk Sample Program, with roughly 1,815 wet tons remaining to be processed. The results thus far surpass the target of 4,000 ounces of gold forecast to be produced from the entire 10,000 tons of material excavated for the Program. Processing is continuing apace and should be completed by the first week of December. Pretium shares are up nearly 80 percent Friday in extremely heavy trading.
Ross Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:ROST): Current price $75.04
Ross Stores has joined other retailers in predicting a disappointing holiday shopping quarter, pointing to heavy discounting and intensified competition. Shares of Ross are down by almost 7 percent, after the retailer reduced its fourth-quarter profit outlook that lagged analysts’ estimates. Ross Chief Executive Michael Balmuth observed in a late Thursday statement that, “We are up against our own challenging multiyear comparisons and an upcoming holiday season that we believe will be the most intensely competitive and promotional selling period in recent years.”
