Baidu Dominating All Contenders

Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU) is proving itself in China. The company has exceeded Wall Street’s expectations for Q3, with 85% growth in its online advertising business. Q4 growth should be good as well, with advertiser spending not likely to drop during the holiday season.

With a 78% market share in China, Baidu has proven sufficient competition for Google (NASDAQ:GOOG), which operates mostly out of Hong Kong after issues between it and the Chinese government. Baidu is looking to capture more business by personalizing the user experience. Baidu’s growing power has incited the government to promote rival search engines.
