A Look Back: In the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year, profit fell 24.4% to $300 million ($1.36 a share) from $396.7 million ($1.67 a share) the year earlier, meeting analyst expectations. Revenue rose 18.4% to $2.05 billion from $1.73 billion.
The decrease in profit in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year broke a streak of two consecutive quarters of year-over-year profit increases. Net income rose 11.8% in the third quarter of the last fiscal year and 4.8% in the second quarter of the last fiscal year.
Revenue has gone up for three straight quarters. It rose 7.2% in the third quarter of the last fiscal year from the year earlier and 4.2% in the second quarter of the last fiscal year.

The stock price saw one of its best stretches over the last year between December 16, 2011 and December 27, 2011 when shares rose for seven-straight days, rising 5.9% (+$4.15) over that span. It saw one of its worst periods between December 9, 2011 and December 16, 2011 when shares fell for six-straight days, falling 3.1% (-$2.27) over that span.
