Best credit card for travel rewards

  • Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card
  • Annual fee: $0 for the first year, $95 after
  • Regular APR: 14.74% – 24.74%

Rewards: Credit card users get a one-time bonus of 50,000 miles after spending $3,000 on purchases within three months from opening the account, equal to $500 in travel. You can also earn twice the miles on every purchase. In addition, there are no blackout dates, so you can travel when you want. The best part is, your miles won’t expire as long as you have the account, and you can earn unlimited miles.

Best credit card for rebuilding credit

  • Discover it® Secured
  • Regular APR: 24.74%

Perks: If you’re trying to rebuild your credit, you might be shopping around for a secured credit card. WalletHub suggests the Discover it Secured card. Some of the credit card’s perks include no annual fee and no monthly fee. Furthermore, you can automatically earn 2% cash back at gas stations and restaurants up to $1,000 in combined purchases each quarter. You’ll also earn unlimited 1% cash back on all other purchases. The introductory offer is also pretty good. Discover matches all the cash back you’ve earned at the end of the first year. You don’t have to sign up to get this perk and matching is unlimited.

Best card for 0% purchases

  • Citi Simplicity® Card – No Late Fees Ever
  • Purchase Intro APR: 0% for 18 months
  • Regular APR: 15.74% – 25.74%

Perks: If you’re concerned about late fees and other penalties that could make your balance higher, this card is for you. The Citi Simplicity Card features no late fees, no penalty rate, and no annual fee. Furthermore, there is a 0% introductory APR on balance transfers and purchases for 18 months. After the 18 months, the variable APR rises to 15.74% to 25.74% depending on your creditworthiness. However, if you’re looking for rewards, you’re out of luck. This card does not feature any bonus rewards.

Best cash-back credit card

  • Citi® Double Cash Card – 18-month BT offer
  • Transfer Intro APR: 0% for 18 months
  • Regular APR: 15.24% – 25.24%

Perks: This card features 2% cash back on purchases (1% when you make the purchase and 1% as you pay). In addition, there are no caps on cash back and there is no annual fee.

Best credit card for balance transfers

  • The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express
  • Purchase Intro APR: 0% for 15 months
  • Regular APR: 14.74% – 25.74%

Perks: You can earn 10,000 Membership Rewards® points after you use your credit card to make $1,000 in purchases during the first three months. In addition, you can earn double points at US supermarkets up to $6,000 per year in purchases (then single points). Earn 1x points on other purchases. If you use the card 20 or more times on purchases within a billing period, you’ll be rewarded with 20% more points on those purchases minus returns and credits.
