BFC Financial Buys Bluegreen, Allstate Postpones Sandy Estimates: Financial Business Wrap
It was reported on Thursday that BFC Financial Corporation (BFCF.PK) and Bluegreen Corporation (NYSE: BXG) have terminated their merger agreement of November 2011, and have now reached a definitive agreement through which the latter will be purchased in a cash transaction.

Allstate Corporation (NYSE: ALL) said in a press release Thursday that the estimated catastrophe losses for October 2012 will amount in excess of $150 million, but a comprehensive calculation cannot be made presently. The usual practice of the firm is to release an estimate of monthly catastrophe losses on the third Thursday following month-end, if the amount in more than $150 million, and it will provide a catastrophe loss estimation for October when possible.
