Boeing and Korean Air have finalized an order for five 747-8 Intercontinentals and six 777-300ER jetliners, which was reported as a commitment during the Paris Air Show back in June. Besides that, Korean Air has also announced an order for an additional 787 Dreamliner. The value of the combined order comes to$3.9 billion at present list prices.

On Thursday, the Walmart Foundation announced a $2.5-million grant to Share Our Strength to aid families across the United States in gaining valuable hands-on shopping, cooking, and nutritional education, helping them to eat healthy on a budget. The grant will supply 107,500 Americans with access to Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters program, which 20-year history has assisted low-income families in developing and maintaining healthier eating habits.

According to the Thursday New York Times, The Big Bank could be forced to conclude a deal with federal authorities to avert criminal prosecution regarding its handling of accounts of the imprisoned swindler Bernie Madoff. The paper said that federal prosecutors and representatives of the bank have had preliminary talks concerning a deferred prosecution agreement. Through the terms of the deal, the government would suspend criminal charges against JPMorgan in return for fines and an acknowledgment that the company could face charges if it “misbehaves.”
