A chief executive at BP (NYSE:BP) told Reuters Tuesday morning that fuel supplies to the Northeastern United States should recover quickly after hurricane Sandy. After the storm closed two-thirds of the region’s refineries on Monday, the supply of gasoline and other fuel for the East Coast almost came to a halt.

“I think it will bounce back very fast, the distribution system there is very efficient. I think we, and other companies, will get product in there,” BP’s Chief Executive Bob Dudley said.
BP has no refineries in the region affected by the hurricane, but the company does operate supply infrastructure there.
