Capital Goods Sector Review: Panetta Opposes Defense Cuts, Deere Dividend

The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA), Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE:LMT): Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told senators that they shouldn’t try to make further cuts to the nation’s defense budget, The Hill reported last night. Additional defense cuts would harm the country’s security, Panetta said, according to the publication.

BA shares closed at $74.95, down $0.21, or 0.28%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $55.89 billion. LMT shares closed at $88.41, down $0.29, or 0.33%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $28.74 billion.

Deere & Company (NYSE:DE): The dividend is payable on May 1 to stockholders of record on March 30.

The shares closed at $82.93, down $0.4, or 0.48%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $33.45 billion.
