Capitalism at Work as Travel Boycotts Plague Arizona

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku01ruTR_aw On the heels of Arizona’s new controversial racial profiling law, the free markets are quickly voting with their wallets.

Today, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom announced a moratorium on official city travel to Arizona. Los Angeles is considering a similar ban. Mexico has already issued a travel advisory (to their entire country) not to travel to Arizona. This is simply the tip of the iceberg that may crush Arizona’s already fragile economy.

If you are dumb enough to pass a law which gives police the right to stop any brown person, you are probably dumb enough to not realize you’ve just given the nation’s largest race or ethnic minority a huge disincentive to ever visit or live in your state. Surely, if Arizona decided they wanted to pass a similar law targeting illegal European immigrants, I would not be interested in visiting because I am not interested in having police shake me down while I am going about my business. If I lived there I would immediately leave.

It will be interesting to see all the business owners scream bloody murder as an incredible percentage of their customers start fading with the Arizona economy.
