According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, the billionaire activist investor Carl Icahn has moved a bit farther into the voice-recognition firm Nuance, as he now owns 16.9 percent of Nuance, up from 16.4. Word of this has driven shares on the company up about 4.6 percent in late Friday trading on heavy volume. Icahn’s Nuance investment is being managed by his son, Brett Icahn, together with David Schechter.

A final okay would let the airlines integrate their networks and finalize a commercial relationship driven by Delta’s recent acquisition of a 49-percent interest in Virgin, according to the Department of Transportation through a Friday filing. The Delta spokesman Anthony Black confirmed the filing.
