Carlyle Group: Get Ready for Our Initial Public Offering

The Carlyle Group filed with the SEC for an initial public offering. Conspiracy theorists now have a new option in regards to dealing with arguably the most politically connected finance firm next to Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS): buy the stock.

Carlyle Group is invested in just about everything: agriculture, aerospace, defense, automotive, consumer, retail, industrial, infrastructure, energy, power, healthcare, technology, real estate, financial services, transportation, business services, telecommunications, and media sectors. Other notable private equity firms that have gone public include Blackstone Group (NYSE:BX), Fortress Investment Group (NYSE:FIG), Apollo Global Management (NASDAQ:APO), and Kohlberg, Kravis Roberts (NYSE:KKR).

The Carlyle Group was founded in 1987 and is based in Washington, District of Columbia with additional offices across North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
