Cheniery Energy, LDK, Amerco, Thoratec, Taleo Top Stock Price Percentage Gainers Feb 9th

Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSEAMEX:LNG): Cheniere’s stock jumped after BG Group (BRGYY) CEO Frank Chapman said his company expects the U.S. to export about 45M tons of liquid natural gas in 2020, according to Bloomberg. Last October BG, which is seeing strong demand for liquid natural gas, announced a contract to buy 3.5M metric tons of natural gas per year from an export terminal that Cheniere is seeking to develop in Louisiana, the news service added. The shares closed at $14.27, up $1.87, or 15.08%. They have traded in a 52-week range of $3.17 to $13.28.

LDK Solar Co., Ltd (NYSE:LDK): Despite enjoying long-term growth prospects, the global solar photovoltaic inverter space declined in 2011, with two major solar markets stalling or cutting tariffs, according to Digitimes. The shares closed at $6.70, up $0.75, or 12.61%. They have traded in a 52-week range of $2.55 to $14.97.

AMERCO (NASDAQ:UHAL): Reported Q3 revenue $633.1M vs. consensus $515M. Included in the Q3 results was an after-tax charge of $1.61 per share associated with Repwest’s excess workers’ compensation reserve strengthening. The shares closed at $116.25, up $13.62, or 13.27%. They have traded in a 52-week range of $60.18 to $103.82.

Thoratec Corporation (NASDAQ:THOR): Piper Jaffray upgraded Thoratec citing valuation and expectations the company’s entrance into Japan and Latin America in 2013 will help offset losing its monopoly in the U.S. The firm raised its price target for shares to $37 from $33. The shares closed at $34.52, up $3.71, or 12.04%. They have traded in a 52-week range of $24.75 to $38.07.

Taleo Corp (NASDAQ:TLEO): Oracle announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Taleo Corporation for $46 per share, approximately $1.9 billion, net of Taleo’s cash and debt. Taleo’s Talent Management Cloud helps organizations attract, develop, motivate and retain human capital to improve performance and drive growth. The shares closed at $45.64, up $6.7, or 17.21%. They have traded in a 52-week range of $21.44 to $38.28.
