Coca-Cola Will Sell Bonds to Refinance $3.15 Billion Of Debt and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

Coca-Cola intends to sell bonds in a five-part offering in order to help refinance $3.15 billion worth of debt. The soft drinks giant will issue fixed and floating rate securities due in 2016, together with that will mature in 2018, 2020, and 2023, according to a Tuesday regulatory filing. Proceeds will be used to repay or redeem its $1.25 billion of 0.75-percent bonds due November 15, along with $1 billion of floaters and $900 million of 3.625-percent notes, which both mature in March.

On Tuesday, The Home Depot Canada Foundation issued its Thought Leadership White Paper on Youth Homelessness. The document points out that breaking the cycle of youth homelessness goes beyond giving shelter. The Foundation has supported the problem of affordable housing in Canada since its inception in 2009. In 2013, it has narrowed its focus to affordable housing and youth after concluding a scan of the affordable housing landscape in Canada. The $10 million, three-year commitment will employ the capabilities of The Home Depot Canada Foundation and its network, centering on renovation and repair projects, life skill development programs, and research and collaboration programs.

Merck announced on Tuesday its presentation of interim data from a Phase 1B trial (PN001) evaluating MK-3475, which is an investigational anti-PD-1 immunotherapy, in patients who have previously-treated non-small cell lung cancer. The data were presented Tuesday by Dr. Edward Garon, Director of Thoracic Oncology, Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of California, Los Angeles at the 15th World Conference on Lung Cancer in Sydney. Detailed interim data were presented for response rates and safety from a cohort of 38 previously-treated NSCLC patients who received MK-3475 10mg/kg every three weeks along with initial findings from an analysis of the relationship between response rates and PD-L1 expression.
