Comcast and Time Warner Form New JV and 2 More Heavily Traded Stocks to Follow

Comcast and Time Warner Cable (NASDAQ:TWC) on Thursday said they have formed a joint venture named RDK Management LLC, which will oversee the Reference Design Kit software being employed in next-generation set-top boxes. RDK is a pre-integrated software bundle first developed and licensed by Comcast to design a common framework for powering tru2way, IP or hybrid set-top boxes and gateway devices, as well as to step up the development and deployment of next-generation video services, according to a press release.


Mondelez International Inc. (NASDAQ:MDLZ): Current price $31.17

According to a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Berkshire Hathaway has once again reduced its positions in Kraft Foods and Mondelez International. As of June 30, Berkshire had 192,666 shares in Kraft, which was down 88 percent from the stake reported as of March 31. Its position in Mondelez was sharply cut by 92 percent to 578,000 shares.


NetApp Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP): Current price $42.03

Shares of NetApp Inc. plunged by 3.8 percent in premarket trading Thursday following the release of its first-quarter earnings. The data-storage tech provider said Wednesday that profit between April and June jumped by 28 percent year-over-year but gave a downcast second-quarter forecast that might have disappointed analysts.
