ComScore has Overall Gains but Fourth Quarter Losses

ComScore (NASDAQ:SCOR) reported record revenues of $62.6 million last year, a 22 percent increase from the previous year but had a net loss of $3.3 million for the fourth quarter.

The company says the reason for the loss is it included the $7.8 million for litigation with Nielsen (NYSE:NLSN). Nielsen filed suit against comScore in March 2011, accusing comScore of infringing on five of its patents. Nielsen received about $19 million in comScore restricted common stock as part of the settlement agreement. Fourth quarter revenue was also hurt by foreign exchange fluctuations in the about of about $600,000.
