Actual vs. Wall St. Expectations: Costco Wholesale Corporation beat the mean analyst estimate of 87 cents per share. Analysts were expecting revenue of $22.11 billion.
The company has now seen net income rise in three straight quarters. In the second quarter, net income rose 13.2% and in the first quarter, the figure rose 2.6%.
The company has beaten estiamtes for two quarters in a row. In the second quarter, it topped expectations with net income of 90 cents versus a mean estimate of net income of 88 cents per share.
Looking Forward: Analysts appear increasingly optimistic about the company’s results for the next quarter. The average estimate for the fourth quarter has moved up from $1.28 a share to $1.29 over the last ninety days. For the fiscal year, the average estimate has moved down from $3.85 a share to $3.84 over the last sixty days.
