Cracks in Airbus May Lead to Safety Checks
The discovery of new wing cracks in about twenty Airbus A380 aircrafts may lead to European safety authorities ordering checks on these planes, according to aviation sources.
The safety checks may not require all of the aircraft to be grounded, and would likely be completed within six weeks. The checks, however, may mean that individual planes could be out of service for 24 hours.
Aircrafts operated by Singapore Airlines, Dubai’s Emirates, and Air France would be affected by such recommendations made from the EASA, the European safety agency, which are likely to be issued by Friday.
