Currency Comptroller Hints at Probe of JPMorgan Bank Charter and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

According to The Wall Street Journal, JPMorgan now has yet another potential headache. Not only is the government looking into the bank’s links with Bernie Madoff, now, the Office of the Comptroller of Currency is suggesting that a review of the bank’s charter might be required. The Journal reports that the OCC made a comment in reaction to a U.S. attorney’s question concerning the ramifications of a criminal inquiry into JPMorgan’s relationship with Madoff and whether the company should have been more transparent with regulators in regards to Madoff’s activities.
Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA): Current price $130.99
Mexican airline Aeromexico announced the arrival of its second Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which will begin commercial operations during the last week in October on the Mexico City-New York route. Commencing in November, the new aircraft will also inaugurate flights to Tokyo and Paris. The arrival of the third plane is set for November, bringing the number of Boeing 787 Dreamliners Aeromexico will have in its fleet to three.
E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. (NYSE:DD): Current price $61.71
DuPont Chief Financial Officer Nick Fanandakis expects to appoint a new management team early in 2014 for the chemicals business, which will be spun off in 2015. It took more than a year to make the final decision to spin off the division. Explaining in July that the firm was looking at strategic alternatives for the unit because it could no longer explore options without the news being leaked, the executive said, “We had worked under a cloak of darkness for a long period of time.”
