Denise Contis Named Discovery’s Newest V.P.

Denise Contis has just been named the Discovery Channel‘s (NASDAQ:DISCA) newest senior vice president of production and development.

Contis, who was previously vice president of production at TLC (NASDAQ:DISCA) where she was involved in the production of shows like “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” and “Say Yes to the Dress”, will be based in Discovery’s L.A. offices and report to Nancy Daniels, executive vice president of production and development. Contis has also worked at ABC Studios (NYSE:DIS), CBS (NYSE:CBS), Lifetime, NBC (NASDAQ:CMCSA), and Buena Vista (NYSE:DIS).

Contis’s new position includes overseeing executive programming strategies and coordinating with independent producers and production companies, as well as working internally with production management, legal and business affairs, finance, international networks, communications, online, advertising, and promotion.
