Disney and EA edge out Zynga in Facebook’s Top 10 Games

Facebook just released its list of the 10 most popular social games of 2011 and top honors went to, not a Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA) game, but Disney’s (NYSE:DIS) “Gardens of Time”, with EA’s (NASDAQ:ERTS) newly launched “The Sims Social” as runner-up. Zynga’s games got the #3 and #4 spots on the list.

Could Zynga’s game dominance be on the fade? Granted, Facebook based the chart both on games that attracted the highest active users and also received the best user recommendations – still, the list should give Zynga cause for thought.

Clearly, growth is slowing for Zynga with reports that its share of daily Facebook gaming users has fallen from 50% to 38%.
