Disney and Univision In Talks About New Channel

ABC’s Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) and Univision are in talks to create a new 24-hour news channel.

If launched, this would be a radical departure for Univision, which has focused exclusively on providing Spanish-speaking content. The move is designed in part to take advantage of the changing demographics of the Spanish-speaking market in the United States.

If the talks are successful, this would be the fourth major cable news network. The major three of course are Time Warner’s (NYSE:TWX) CNN, News Corp.’s (NASDAQ:NWSA) Fox News and Comcast’s (NASDAQ:CMCSA) MSNBC.
