Dividend Changes to Know Now: EMCOR, Tri Continental, Morningstar, The Hanover Insurance Group

EMCOR Group Inc. (NYSE:EME): EMCOR Group increases quarterly dividend, announces special cash dividend. The board approved a 20% increase in the company’s quarterly dividend to 6c per share from 5c per share. The board also declared a special cash dividend of 25c per share. Both dividends will be paid on December 28 to stockholders of record as of December 18. The board announced the quarterly dividend will be accelerated and will re place the regular quarterly dividend that would have been paid in January 2013.

Tri Continental Corporation Com (NYSE:TY): Tri-Continental Corp. increases dividend to 19c from 15.5c per share. Tri-Continental Corporation declared a fourth quarter distribution of 19c per share of common stock payable on December 27 to stockholders of record on December 18.

Morningstar Inc. (NASDAQ:MORN): Morningstar increases dividend 25%, authorizes $200M additional share buyback. The board of directors of Morningstar declared a dividend of 12.5 cents per share payable Dec. 28 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 17. Morningstar’s board increased the dividend to 12.5c per share from 10c. Morningstar’s board also approved an increase to the company’s share repurchase authorization from $300M to $500M.

The Hanover Insurance Group Inc. (NYSE:THG): Hanover Insurance raises quarterly dividend 10% to 33c from 30c per share. The dividend is payable December 28 to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 17.
