Duke Energy Corporation’s (NYSE:DUK) leadership in sustainable business practices has been once again recognized through placement on the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World). This is the second year in a row that the company has been placed on the index.
Last week Duke, along with Progress Energy (NYSE:PGN), announced a settlement with the North Carolina Public Staff relating to the companies’ planned merger. The proposed merger, if completed, will create the country’s largest electric utility in terms of enterprise value, market capitalization, generation assets, customers and various other criteria.
