Dunkin’ Donuts is celebrating the first day of summer by giving away free samples of its new frozen lemonade. You can head to your nearest participating Dunkin’ Donuts on Thursday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to pick up your 3.5-ounce complimentary drink. The drink is available in two flavors: original and strawberry. The seasonal beverages, which were introduced in May, will stay on the menu through the summer.
Dunkin’s complimentary lemonade promotion is a great way to mark the official beginning of swimsuit season, but it’s not the only day when you can snag free treats. Every year, businesses mark hand out gratis goods to mark anniversaries and made-up food holidays. While these promotions often aren’t announced until just a few days before the event, we’ve compiled a list of previous free days that have either already been announced or are likely to happen again. Mark your calendars and get ready for these special summer freebie days.
June 21: In honor of the first day of summer and National Smoothie Day, Planet Smoothie locations are giving away free 16-ounce Lunar Lemonades from 2 to 4 p.m., local time. No purchase necessary.
Dairy Queen is also offering free small Blizzards to anyone who downloads their new app. Here’s the best news: You can download the app anytime, and you’ll have a week to claim your frozen treat after you get the coupon.
July 10: Chick-fil-A restaurants are giving away free entrees on July 10, 2018, for “Cow Appreciation Day” but there’s a catch to this offbeat promotion. To earn your free meal, you need to dress like a cow. Customers who don their best cow costume or other cow apparel and visit a Chick-fil-a between store opening and 7 p.m. will get their freebie. The good news is that your cow costume doesn’t need to be too complicated. “Any sort of cow apparel” counts, according to the company’s website.
July 11: Every year, Slurpee fans eagerly await 7-Eleven Day, when the convenience store chain hands out free small Slurpees to every customer. In 2017, the chain gave away an estimated 9 million icy-cold frozen beverages. This year, 7-Eleven Day falls on a Wednesday. The promotion typically runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., local time.
July 15: You may be able to snag a free cone or other frozen treat on National Ice Cream Day, which happens every year on the third Sunday in July. In 2017, McDonald’s customers could get a coupon for a free cone through the chain’s mobile app, Dippin’ Dots handed out free cups of mini ice cream, and Baskin Robbins was offering free samples.
July 18: The third Wednesday in July is National Hot Dog Day. Last year, Hot Dog on a Stick locations gave out free dogs, as did Love’s Travel Stops and Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers. Other chains, like Sonic Drive-In and Burger King had hot dogs on sale for less than $1.
July 29: Back in 1977, Buffalo mayor Stan Makowski proclaimed July 29 National Chicken Wing Day. More than 40 years later, wing fanatics can mark the day by taking advantage of deals and promotions at chains like Buffalo Wild Wings, Hooters, and Wingstop.
August 6: Root beer float fanatics can count on A&W restaurants serving up free floats with any purchase on Root Beer Float Day. In 2017, Wienerschnitzel restaurants had a similar promotion.
August 11: Every second Saturday in August is National Bowling Day. In the past, chains like Bowlmor have had “bowl one game free” promotions. Your local lanes may have similar deals available.
