Northwest Natural Gas (NYSE:NWN) has raised its dividend to $0.445 a share, making 2011 its 56th consecutive year of increasing its payout to shareholders.
Glori Energy, a provider of biotechnology for extracting untapped oil, is filing for a $115 million IPO under the ticker GLRI. Glori reported revenue of $695,000 for the first six months of 2011, and a net loss of $2.8 million.

Kyushu Electric’s Genkai plant in Japan has automatically shut down because of a problem with its cooling system. Prime Minister Noda is pushing to get the plant back up and running as soon as possible to avoid steep economic losses from nuclear power running at less than full capacity.
