Exxon Mobil and United Technologies Making Headlines Now

United Technologies Corporation’s (NYSE:UTX) Pratt & Whitney division, and Russia’s Irkut Corporation have completed a definitive agreement offer the former’s PurePower PW1400G engine on Irkut’s MC-21 aircraft line, which will mark the only western powerplant offered on the new narrow body program. In addition, the two firms have named Short Brothers plc, which is a subsidiary of Bombardier Aerospace of Canada, as the exclusive nacelle supplier for the PW1400G engine group.

Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE:XOM) CEO Rex Tillerson reports that the company is considering exporting LNG from the U.S., according to Reuters. Tillerson also confirmed that his company is mulling the construction of a new petrochemical plant in Texas, by which it might benefit from cheap shale gas.
