Facebook Brings Dock to Home and 2 More Heavily Traded Stocks to Follow

Facebook (NASDAQ:FB): Current price $22.90

AllThingsD reports that the social network giant is adding a dock to Facebook Home which permits users to more easily access their favorite applications. The move is part of a wider efort by Facebook to reconfigure its Android software, and the new dock forms part of an update to the Facebook application for Android. In a statement, the company said that “early feedback from users focused on a desire for a more robust app launcher and in addition to a dock, Facebook is working on folders and widget support which will come in future updates.”

Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE:AMD): Current price $3.90

It seems that AMD might be joining Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Chromebook supply chain, according to DigiTimes. Market observers believe that AMD is concentrating on the Windows platform development, but that it has also begun cooperating with Chromebook original equipment manufacturers to test out the platform.

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM): Current price $34.23

On Thursday, the iconic automaker expanded a maintenance program for its cars and trucks, in order to grow revenue by getting American customers to be more loyal to its brands. Chief Executive Dan Akerson said that domestic Chevrolet, Buick and GMC customers will be under the new program, which includes free scheduled service for two years or 24,000 miles. GM calculates that each percentage point increase in its owner loyalty rate increases overall revenue by $700 million. Speaking at GM’s yearly shareholders meeting, Akerson said that the company would also think about a stock dividend or share repurchase, but the main focus was on investing in new programs, like the free-maintenance program or new vehicles.
