Facebook Issues Press Invites and 4 Social Media Stocks Action

LinkedIn Corporation has announced that they have reached 200 million members and new members continue to join LinkedIn at a rate of two per second. The company has added more than 13 million members since their last announcement on November 1, 2012. Currently, more than 64% of LinkedIn members are located outside the United States.
Groupon, Inc. (NASDAQ:GRPN): Current price $5.09
LinkedIn, the first of a new wave of Web companies to go public in the last two years, has seen their stock outperform many of their peers and are enjoying a fairly stable increase in share price while other well-known Web stocks, such as daily-deals site Groupon Inc. and social-gaming firm Zynga Inc. (NASDAQ:ZNGA), have decreased amid missteps and weak quarterly results.

Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ:FB):Current price $30.40
According to the Wall Street Journal, Facebook Inc., has issued an invitation to the press for an event at their Menlo Park campus next week. The conference could be to announce a new product launch, a redesign, or possibly a Facebook phone, the Journal speculated.
Pandora Media, Inc. (NYSE:P): Current price $10.26
Pandora Media, Inc. does not get much revenue from Australia and New Zealand, however, their content costs in those markets are just a fraction of those in the United States. Content costs as a percentage of revenue will not exceed 25% in Australia and New Zealand, Pandora’s Chief Executive Officer Joe Kennedy said Monday at the Citi Global Internet, Media & Telecommunications Conference. Those rates are “conducive to the creation of long-term value” in those markets, he said. The service launched in both markets in December.
Zynga, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZNGA): Current price $2.46
The puzzle pieces are creating a clear picture as to the steps Zynga, Inc. is taking into their venture into real money gambling. eGR released a report this morning stating that there are a number of factoids leading to the social gaming operators preparations. One is the filing of several patents throughout 2012 — 89 patents were filed with 38 acquired from Walker Digital, a software company previously in patent legalities with Zynga.
