Fascinating Facts About How Ivanka Trump Really Makes Her Money

As a child of President Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump was born into wealth. But as you probably know, the first daughter established a career of her own before heading to Washington as an adviser to her father in 2017. She has a net worth of $300 million, reports say.

Ivanka’s business dealings have stirred up controversy more than once. For instance, while she’s in the White House, her assets are in a trust and others manage her Ivanka Trump brand; while this may help avoid conflicts of interest, she’s still earning money from both her brand and the Trump Organization, reports say. Here we’ll look at ways Ivanka has earned money and gained wealth over the years.

  • Amount she earned from Jan. 1, 2016 to May 31, 2017: at least $13.5 million

In 2011, Ivanka launched her fashion line of clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories. These are sold at Macy’s and Hudson’s Bay. Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, however, yanked the brand from their stores in February 2017, citing “poor performance.” The first daughter opened a standalone store in December 2017 in the lobby of Trump Tower in New York.

Critics have scrutinized the brand for its overseas manufacturing practices, at a time when the president promoted his “Buy American, hire American” slogan. In 2017, presidential advisor Kellyanne Conway caused a controversy by recommending Ivanka’s clothing on Fox & Friends. “Go buy Ivanka’s stuff,” she told co-host Steve Doocy.

  • Cost of the most expensive piece: $19,000

Ivanka’s fine jewelry line launched in 2007 and included diamond and gold pieces. On the lower end, you could find a rose gold ring for $940, while on the pricier end, a woven diamond necklace could set you back $19,000. Ads featured black-and-white photos of Ivanka modeling the jewelry, which sold at her flagship retail store.

However, in March 2017, Abigail Klem, who manages Ivanka’s lifestyle brand, announced the fine jewelry line would be discontinued. Instead, the company would focus on lower-end, costume jewelry, she said.

The fragrance is described as an “alluring and feminine floral Oriental” scent that is a “symbol of grace and beauty.”

The Trump Organization is a collective name for around 500 business entities for which Donald Trump is the sole or principal owner. Ivanka’s role was Executive Vice President. “Ivanka was always a natural-born dealmaker,” Donald said. “But she’s become a very good builder and manager.”

Upon his inauguration, the president and Ivanka resigned from all roles within the organization to prevent conflicts of interest. Although she no longer works for the organization, Ivanka is still expected to earn $1.5 million a year from the real estate empire.
