GE Appoints Peter Lefkowitz as Chief Privacy Counsel and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE): Current price $23.30

GE on Wednesday named Peter Lefkowitz as its chief privacy counsel, effective September 9. Lefkowitz comes to General Electric from Oracle, where he served as vice president of privacy and security legal and chief privacy officer, according to a press release. Beyond that, he advised Oracle’s internal business functions and product and services divisions on structuring and managing cloud services, responding to security incidents, and keeping required information protection systems, policies, standards, registrations, and certifications.


United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX): Current price $100.13

According to a Defense Department release, United Technologies obtained a $69.6 million deal in which the company is being awarded funds to buy long-lead components, parts, and materials needed to build propulsion systems for a total number of 39 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters that Lockheed Martin is building for the United States and its allies.


JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM): Current price $50.92

Sources told Reuters that JPMorgan is in discussions with a group of regulators that includes United States prosecutors to resolve inquiries into the bank’s “London Whale” trading losses of 2012. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority are reportedly in intense negotiations with attorneys for JPMorgan to reach a worldwide settlement.
