GE Healthcare Subsidiary to Build KUBio Factory in China and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

GE Healthcare’s GE Healthcare Life Sciences and JHL Biotech, which provides biopharmaceutical process development and manufacturing services, announced that a KUBio modular biopharmaceutical factory will be constructed in China for JHL Biotech. The location for the new facility, which is expected to be fully operational by early 2015, is the Biolake Science Park in Wuhan. GE Healthcare’s innovative turnkey approach will entail the assembly at the JHL Biotech site of pre-made modules equipped with GE Healthcare’s technologies for the start-to-finish manufacture of biopharmaceuticals.

Merck’s subsidiary Merck Consumer Care, a subsidiary of Merck, said that Oxytrol For Women is now available across the United States. The firm licensed the exclusive rights to market, distribute and sell the drug domestically as an OTC treatment for OAB from Actavis.
