Groupon Brings Its Freebies Category to the Marketplace and 2 Other Hot Stocks to Watch

Groupon on Wednesday debuted a new category in its e-commerce marketplace, Freebies, which gives shoppers an easy method with which to save money in the online stores of their favorite brands. Benefits from Freebies will include promotion codes, digital coupons, sales, giveaways, and samples, according to a company press release. Following its successful beta rollout, Freebies and offers from more than 5,500 brands are now available to anyone in the United States. The category is launching first in the U.S., but the intention is to expand to several international markets next year.


Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO): Current price $21.37

Cicso announced new solutions and services in the Cisco EnergyWise Suite that aid enterprises in becoming more energy efficient, lowering costs, and cutting carbon emissions. The expanded portfolio is grounded on the integration of recently purchased JouleX software with Cisco’s current services offerings and EnergyWise tech. Cisco EnergyWise Suite helps cut energy costs by tracking, measuring, and managing the energy usage of all network-connected devices and systems regardless of vendor or device type, the company said.


Aeterna Zentaris Inc. (NASDAQ:AEZS): Current price $1.05

Shares are down by almost 35 percent on Wednesday in extremely heavy trading after Aeterna Zentaris announced the pricing of its previously reported public offering of 13.1 million units, with each unit comprised of one common share and one warrant to purchase one common share at a purchase price of $1.15 per unit. Each warrant will be exercisable for a period of five years after the issuance thereof at an exercise price of $1.60 per share. Net proceeds from the offering should come to about $13.7 million after deducting underwriting commissions and other expenses connected with the offering.
