Vivus (NASDAQ:VVUS) shares popped today after the FDA agreed to allow an early resubmission of its new drug application for Qnexa, a treatment for obesity. Vivus will resubmit the application for Qnexa by the end of October.
Infosys (NASDAQ:INFY) is in talks to acquire Thomson Reuters’ healthcare business for $700 million to $750 million. The Thomson Reuters unit supplies healthcare data and analysis to companies, government agencies, and health professionals.
Express Scripts (NASDAQ:ESRX) has filed a lawsuit against Walgreen Company (NYSE:WAG) for allegedly using false advertising to lure Medicare patients away. Back in June, Walgreen opted out of Express Script’s pharmacy network after contract re-negotiations between the two broke down.
