Truviso, a privately-held provider of network analysis software, is to be acquired by Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO), according to a post on the latter’s company blog.
The acquisition will enable Cisco and Truviso to provide “instant access and visibility into network use and services to help increase operational efficiencies and drive new revenue streams for customers.”
Truviso’s unique continuous query technology enables service providers and enterprises to obtain real-time and detailed insights into network usage and services. With its “analyze-first, store-later capability,” these entities are in a position to understand and differentiate their service offerings.
The acquisition marks another step forward in Cisco’s drive to develop intelligent networks and supports its “five foundational priorities,” namely core, data center, virtualization, collaboration, and video.
