Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:DIS): A couple of public interest groups are seriously questioning Monday’s report by The New York Post, concerning online broadcaster Hulu’s (NYSE:DIS)(NASDAQ:NWS)(NASDAQ:NWSA) supposed decsion that in the near future only cable TV subscribers will be allowed to access its service. The Hill reports that one of the groups is asking whether this possible move was prompted by the cable TV provider Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA), which owns a controlling investment in NBC, which in turn has a large investment in Hulu. This could be a problem for Comcast, because when the FCC okayed its purchase of NBC, the cable company’s involvement in decisions regarding Hulu was to be restricted.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT): Windows 8’s touchscreen design and software are said to be giving Notebook brand suppliers problems, which might raise products costs and spell delays in the wave of personal computer replacement originally scheduled for the second half of the current year, according to Digitimes.
