Here’s Why Enterprise Storage Stocks are Spiking

VMware (NASDAQ:VMW) had a nice earnings quarter and is providing a lift to 80% owner EMC (NYSE:EMC). But the market also appears happy with EMC’s own quarter. As a result, investors are bidding up shares these enterprise storage names.

  • EMC Corporation (NASDAQ:EMC): The shares recently traded at 24.01, up $1.33, or 5.86% on the day. The shares have traded in the 52-week range of $19.84 to $28.73 and its market capitalization is $49.62 billion. About the company: EMC Corporation provides enterprise storage systems, software, networks, and services. The Company’s products store, retrieve, manage, protect, and share information from all major computing environments and mainframe platforms. EMC operates offices around the world.
  • NetCap Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP): The shares recently traded at 39.41, up $1.35, or 3.55% on the day. The shares have traded in the 52-week range of $33 to $61.02 and its market capitalization is $14.58 billion. About the company: NetApp, Inc. provides storage and data management solutions. The Company’s storage solutions include specialized hardware, software, and services that provide storage management for open network environments. NetApp serves enterprises, government agencies, and universities worldwide.
  • Emulex Corporation (NASDAQ:ELX): The shares recently traded at 6.98, up $0.24, or 3.56% on the day. The shares have traded in the 52-week range of $5.86 to $12.97 and its market capitalization is $615.50 million. About the company: Emulex Corporation provides converged networking solutions for data centers.
