Hewlett-Packard Warns Chromebook 11 Customers and 2 Other Hot Stocks to Watch

Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE:HPQ): Current price $24.99

Hewlett-Packard confirmed to Business Insider that it is warning those who bought a Chromebook 11 not to use the charger subsequent to complaints that the units overheat. Further, the company told retailers like Best Buy and Amazon to stop selling the devices. Tom Warren at The Verge reports that stores were issued an “urgent warning” from HP that said, “Stores should stop selling the HP Chromebook 11 effective immediately.”


Micron Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) Current price $19.04

Seth Klarman, whose firm Baupost Group LLC held assets of approximately $29 billion as of mid-September, has added 22.5 million shares of Micron Technology in the quarter, and it is now his fund’s No. 1 single stock position at a total of 64 million shares of the semiconductor producer. Thus far on Thursday, Micron shares have hit a new 52-week high at $19.14.


Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE): Current price $31.97

Pfizer has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Wyeth LLC has advised The Bank of New York Mellon, as trustee under the applicable indenture, of its decision to fully redeem all of its outstanding 5.5 percent Notes due February 1. The aggregate principal amount of notes presently outstanding comes to $1.75 billion. The redemption date for the notes will be December 16.
